Today we have had some positive news. The flood model has shown it hopefully passes National Resources Wales requirements for our preferred bridge option. We are now waiting for their official approval so that we can move onto the next stage...
During 2019 and 2020 feasibility work has continued to progress on the Wye Active Travel Bridge scheme. This has included initial stage ecology surveys and flood modelling to assess the potential impact of the proposed active travel bridge. Output from the flood modelling now needs to be discussed with key stakeholders, Natural Resources Wales (NRW), before the scheme can be progressed further.
At this point a WelTAG (Welsh Transport Appraisal Guidance), Stage 2 Review Group meeting to gain approval to progress to WelTAG Stage 3 will be held. MCC are awaiting an announcement on their Active Travel grant funding for 2020/21, before further design and feasibility work can be taken forward.
