The People & Places Committee is responsible for ensuring the council plays its full role in promoting the cleanliness and safety of the town and its open spaces and support and strengthens community activities, participation and events.
It administers the Council's grants scheme, supports other organisations through a variety of partnership agreements, responds to community safety and environmental issues (including climate change initiatives), community engagement and council communications, social inclusion and events.
The full list of responsibilities can be viewed in the Scheme of Delegation.
It meets monthly on the second Monday of the months and all Councillors are members of this committee. Agendas are issued on the Town Council's website and in notice boards (when pandemic restrictions allow) with three clear days notice and set out the business to be transacted. All meetings are open to the public. Members of the public are welcome to speak at meetings but must make a request in writing at least the working day before the meeting.
